spotted_salamander_trail_resize_ribbon_cuttingThe Kanawha State Forest Foundation has wrapped up the renovation of the only wheelchair accessible trail at Kanawha State Forest, so it’s time to celebrate!

You, your family, and friends are invited to a “Ribbon Cutting and Weenie Roast, ” at the Spotted Salamander Trail, November 10th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. You’re encouraged to come early so you can check out the trail improvements, then stay and roast hot dogs, toast marshmallow s’mores, and sip some cider.

The recent renovations include:
–A newly paved parking lot and repairs to the trail asphalt
–Guide posts and  guide ropes for the blind
–New interpretive nature signs with color photographs
–Safety Fencing
–Freshly painted shelter with a ramp and wheelchair accessible   picnic table
